The Daughters of the King

The National Daughters of the King is a Lay Order for women of the Episcopal Church and churches within the historic Episcopate.  It was organized in 1885.  Each Daughter pledges herself to a lifelong program of prayer, service, and personal evangelism.  Each Daughter undertakes a Rule of Life, including a twofold commitment to Prayer and Service.

Five women from St. Peter’s were admitted into the Order on August 9, 2009.  Our chapter name is the St. Peter’s Mother-in-Law Chapter, in honor of the woman who is considered the first deacon of the Church after preparing a meal for the Disciples of Christ.  We currently have six members.

More information on the Daughters of the King is available at

May the Lord bless and keep you on this day.

Prayerfully —
